Kim Kardashian West, nude mirror selfie

Kim Kardashian West shared a “like, I have nothing to wear” curvaceous nude but sadly censored mirror selfie on Instagram, perhaps still keen to distract from troubled rappin’ tailor beau Kanye’s ranting Life of Pablo antics: Kanye West, secret Pirate Bay user or simply trolling? Xfer Records main man Steve Duda wasn’t laughing and Yeezus had to stitch and sew a retort to DeadMau5 (artofgladstonetibbs.com Latest Picks 2nd Mar. 2016).

It seems everyone’s out to bag a Kardashian, perhaps genuinely offended by moral turpitude or perhaps because it’s long been a source of opportunity, and obviously in everyone’s interest.

Kim Kardashian pulls a Kanye in explosive Twitter outburst: Defiant star lets rip at Bette Midler over nude selfie backlash, boasts about paying off husband’s $53m debt (dailymail.co.uk).

“The 35-year-old took to slamming her critics, in typical Yeezy fashion, after receiving backlash over posting a nude selfie to Twitter. The reality star lashed out at Better Midler and Chloe Moretz, who had criticized her exhibitionism earlier that day. Kim also brazenly appeared to imply she’s paid off her husband Kanye’s supposed $53 million debts and even posted ANOTHER naked photo with the hashtag ‘#liberated.’”

Indeed, perhaps being in Midler’s ball park—she is a comedienne after all and pop culture is fair game—and she has used such in her comedic repertoire before: Petite popstrel Ariana Grande got gummed by Bette Midler for her leg-kicking performance at the AMAs (artofgladstonetibbs.com, Pick of the Week 26th Nov. 2014).

Seemingly though, few are keen to challenge say comedienne Chelsea Hander for her constant #FreeTheNippleage and bare bum Instagram baiting (9th Feb. 2016), suggesting perhaps it is indeed opportunity based on moral emotivism (colloquially known as the boo/hurrah theory).

And predictably…

Bette Midler hits back at Kim Kardashian West over “fake friend” claim (femalefirst.co.uk).

“Bette Midler has hit back at Kim Kardashian West after she branded her a ‘fake friend’ following a spat over her selfie. The legendary performer has poked fun at the 35-year-old reality TV star, who attempted to break the internet earlier this week when she uploaded a racy nude photo online, for not taking a "joke" when she mocked her for stripping off for a shot.”

Indeed, I don’t really see how it could have been took any other way, it is, after all, what Bette does, but “can’t you take a joke” rings rather familiar and seemingly, as with young Ariana who objected to being described as using her music to promote sex—or perhaps sex to promote her music—indicative of an oft problem with comedy—and perhaps social media collectively—is that it is often at the expense of someone else and the “joke” is often lost on others too who take it as something else, like judgement.

Ariana Grande, Twitter

Young Ariana of course would later lick a doughnut, alas, while it was still on the counter on sale at the time (artofgladstonetibbs.com, Pick of the Month 31st Jul. 2015), and blame obesity in the USA for her surgery tongue sliding, and many elder Arianator armchair warriors were furiously syrup steamed at her unpatriotism. Fortunately it only took a flash of petite panties or two to cause them to forgive and love her again, perhaps because, at least, she hasn’t yet showed everything underneath to continue to intrigue their interest.

But, when it’s starting to make you look like a spoil-sport or Hocus Pocus opportune—but comedic-caring—witch sister, yep, call on social conscience and suggest do it for charity:

Bette Midler urges Kim Kardashian to use nude selfie for a good cause (abcnews.go.com).

“Midler defended herself in a series of tweets, and then went on to use the attention to promote her cause, Stages for Success, which raises funds to help transform schools’ auditoriums. ‘I never tried to fake friend you. Looks like anyone can take a selfie but not everyone can take a joke,’ she wrote Tuesday. ‘@KimKardashian wants me to send her my nudes! I’ll send them right over but the lighting’s bad right now since she threw all that shade!’ She added Wednesday night, ‘@KimKardashian Put your selfie to work...for a good cause! Donate, RT, I’ll match $$ 2-1!’ with a link to Stages for Success.”

Presumably asking all who cared to view to donate too to ease their conscience, but so far, Kim hasn’t responded, nor Stages for Success on whether they consider a nude selfie—censored or not—appropriate for fundraising.

But despite taking a “I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies” tongue(or tweet)-lashing from 19-year-old Chloë Grace Moretz too, not all attention was not negative—at least with regards Kim personally rather than the feuding on International Woman’s Day: Miley Cyrus slams Kim Kardashian’s feuds with Bette Midler, Chloe Grace Moretz: “You all are acting tacky” (usmagazine.com).

“Cyrus, 23, posted an Instagram snap of Kardashian’s butt Kimoji and added an irate, not-so-cheeky caption to respond to the mess. ‘Dear women, you ALL are acting tacky AF!’ Cyrus sniped. ‘Why don’t we overly (myself included) fortunate women come together and try to create and bring jobs to other women in desperate need of them so they can support not only THEMSELVES but their families! #happyinternationalwomensday. Can we all put the c--tiness aside for one f--king day and love / celebrate one another!’ … Bella Thorne [also] took to Twitter to voice her support for Kardashian’s naked pics, tossing shade at fellow teen star Moretz. ‘I think every woman should be allowed to make their own choices with their OWN bodies soo..’”

Indeed, a nudity-allowed thread Miley has tweaked before (Miley Cyrus brought her rainbow rockets to the Taylor Swift/Nicki Minaj “Bad Blood” fight: “And I’m a bad role model because I’m running around with my titties out? I’m not sure how titties are worse than guns.” (artofgladstonetibbs.com, Latest Picks updated 10th August 2015)) and highlighting again that—in celeb media at least—it is oftem women casting first stone against another, seemingly so the other gender can enjoy the resulting catfight: “Are we resentful because we have to play within the confines of decorum, while the likes of Kim Kardashian do as they please under perfect Hollywood lighting?” Writer and comedienne Karen Mangiacotti on Kim K’s Breaking the Internet (huffingtonpost.com, Nov. 2014).

I have to suggest though I’m curious about the seeming similar—as Kanye described—“trolling” demeanor of both his and Kim’s retorts; they certainly seem to have given the publicity desired for what is the root cause of them, being the release of Kanye’s Life of Pablo album but again perhaps proving they shrewdly know the nature of social media better than others on it and that, quizzically for those widely reviled for having money but little talent, from a business perspective, similar to how reviled impresario Malcolm McLaren was largely responsible for the storming success of epoc changing punks The Sex Pistols, the Kardashian-Jenner Korps is, through epoc changing additive social media under the “momager” reign of Kris, the best advertising agency one can have.

Regardless—or perhaps because of the vitriol shared—many have suggested they are most keen to view the uncensored version, perhaps so they can just see without black bar exactly all there is to see while muttering “dissscussing!”, and indeed, a suggestively uncensored version has circulated but, for sure, taking into account amount keen to search and see its provenance is opportune ad-revenue questionable. *Or it could just be a scan from Kim’s “Selfish” coffee table book, which it seems is the source after all: uncensored, updated 14th Oct. 2016.

But also bringing to mind Star Trek DS9’s capitalism-obsessed Ferengi’s (memory-alpha.wikia.com) titillation of immodest clothed females where females are socially expected to be naked in their society.

And as with Bette Meddler’s Midlers “charity” backtracking…

Chloë Grace Moretz

Chloë Grace Moretz blasts Kim Kardashian West for “silly” remarks (femalefirst.co.uk).

“Chloë Grace Moretz has blasted Kim Kardashian West for her ‘silly’ comment following their spat over her nude selfie. The 19-year-old actress found herself locked in a war of words with the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ beauty last week over the reality star’s raunchy upload online but she believes she was unfairly targeted in a malicious way because her innocent remark was ‘misconstrued.’”

Indeed, there’s much that can be “misconstrued” in telling someone off for supposedly corrupting youth who were seemingly never that eager to take a peek, as much can be “misconstrued” for many of Chloë’s gentlemanly elder fans who despite calling her a “good girl” and having seemingly gone off Emma Watson are positively perfervidly vocally overeager for some to pictorial corruption to overcome her.

When you’re like real life LOL

“A mum who photographed herself naked in a stand against body shaming, has inspired other mothers to strip down to their underwear to help bring up their children to be body confident.

“Lacey Barratt describes herself as ‘fiercely passionate about bodies’ and her ‘Humans Uncensored Project’ features bodies in all their glory. … Barratt’s project was initially inspired by the mixed response to Kim Kardashian’s latest naked selfie, with many saying Kardashian’s snap was less ‘authentic’ than nude photos of women giving birth. … ‘The double standard of body shaming I have seen because Kim Kardashian posted a censored nudie of her body. Who cares? It is a woman’s body. Only difference is a baby isn’t hanging off her boob, so does that now make it inappropriate? No way. A woman’s body should be celebrated, regardless if there is a baby on the breast, or simply because, one feels like it.’”
